Matthew E. Weaver, PE promoted to Staff Engineer

Cornerstone Structural Engineering Group is pleased to announce that Matthew Weaver successfully passed the California Professional Engineering Exam and has been promoted to Staff Engineer. He will be the newest of Cornerstone’s nine licensed Professional Engineers.

Mr. Weaver graduated from California Polytechnic State University with a M.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering. He obtained his B.S. from California State University, Fresno in Civil Engineering.

While working on Lawson Lane Pedestrian Overcrossing Access Structure, he practiced, improved, and sharpened his technical expertise. This greatly assisted him in studying and taking the PE exam. He was able to gain construction phase experience while reviewing shop drawings, responding to RFI’s, performing site observations, and writing reports when he worked on Sacramento Fire Station No. 14 and a private bridge in Newark, CA.

While all the project managers at Cornerstone have provided guidance and been role models for Matthew, one in particular stands out. Dustin Lee has been an excellent mentor and has helped Matthew hone both his technical and soft skills such as communicating with clients, architects, and contractors.

In his spare time, he enjoys being outdoors as much as possible preferably hiking, camping, kayaking, snowboarding, or four-wheeling. He was active in Fresno State’s Student Chapter of ASCE and continues to be involved with the Fresno Branch of ASCE as well as the Younger Member Forum (YMF). Now that he doesn’t have to study, he plans to spend more time with his wonderful girlfriend, dog (Buster), friends, and family. He also plans to get outside and explore!
