The Betty Drive Overhead was the second phase of the Avenue 312/Betty Drive corridor improvement project.  Located adjacent to a busy railroad interchange point between the Union Pacific Railroad and the San Joaquin Valley Railroad, the Betty Drive/UPPR Grade Separation replaced the existing at-grade intersection, providing a designated truck route from State Route 99 to Road 80 and the northern portion of the Visalia Business Park.  The project was funded through the States Highway-Railroad Crossing Safety Account (HRCSA), the local Tulare County Measure R sales tax, and contributions from the City of Visalia.

Cornerstone also provided full-time Structure Representatives for the construction of the 320 ft. long two-span, cast-in-place post-tensioned box girder overhead structure.  The foundation construction consisted of 8 ft. diameter CIDH at the bent and 2ft. diameter CIDH piles at the abutments.  Due to caving sands at the site, the contractor elected to use a casing oscillator to install the bent piles. Cornerstone’s services during construction included reviewing falsework, pile placement, concrete mix designs, bridge soffit, and deck grades, providing daily field inspections of the contractor's work, reviewing payment requests, and completing daily reports and photo logs.
